Standard Banner Sizes

Standard banner sizes

Banners are a great way of showcasing your business. After all, with the right design and sizing, they can catch a lot of attention! But this is also why sizing is so important. If your banner is too small, it could be easy to ignore or difficult to read. Meanwhile, banners that are too large might seem obnoxious, depending on your audience and run the risk of blending into the background. So what size is right for you?

This article details the different banner sizes available and what they’re often used for. For personalised advice, contact our team at Gorilla Print today.

Banner Size Guide

There are several different sizes you can choose from when printing banners. Likewise, sizes may also vary depending on the type of banner you choose. Here, we’ll detail each type of banner you could use and the range of sizes they can come in.

1. Pull-up Banners

A pull-up banner is designed for portability and ease of use. The banner itself is rolled into the base, where it can be easily pulled upwards and then latched into place with a pole. This can then disassemble quickly and easily, making it an ideal choice for event stands or store entrances. Below we’ll list the sizes they can come in.

  • 845mm x 2000mm
  • 1200mm x 2000mm
  • 850mm x 2150mm
  • 1000mm x 2150mm
  • 1200mm x 2150mm

Pull-up banners can also be incredibly versatile. At Gorilla Print, we sell extra large pull-up banners that range from 2400mm x 2000mm to 3000mm x 2400mm. We also offer mini pull-up banners that range from A3 to A4 sizes, perfect for table and bench tops.

Furthermore, if you want to ensure you are using as much advertising space as possible, some pull-up banners can be double-sided.

2. Mesh Banners

Mesh banners are a great choice for outdoor advertising. They can be attached to fences or hung between poles. Due to the mesh material, they are extremely durable and resistant to the weather, ensuring that your designs last and make an impression. Most mesh banners range between these sizes:

  • 1600mm x 2400mm
  • 1600mm x 50m
  • 1800mm x 2400mm
  • 1800mm x 50m

3. Feather Banners

Feather banners are similar to pull-up banners in that they are ideal for events of every kind, as they are held up by a single pole. Whether you would like them at your shop front, sporting event or pop-up stall they are easy to set up and use without taking up too much space.

While pop-up banners come in a range of sizes, feather banners also come in a range of styles. You can choose between rectangular, curved, or rounded edges, and you can also choose between feather or tear-shaped banners.

They come in a range of sizes from small to medium and large. Here we’ll list the standard sizes, though exact measurements may vary depending on the shape you choose.

  • Small
  • 670mm x 2085mm
  • Medium
  • 745mm x 3140mm
  • Large
  • 795mm x 4210mm

4. X-frame Banners

X-frame banners are lightweight and easy to move and adjust. They use an x-shaped frame to hold the banner up, which can be positioned anywhere you choose. Once you have one frame, it is easy to change between banners making them more versatile and cost-effective long-term.

While this type of banner offers versatility, it does not have as many sizing options. Most x-frame banners will sit at the below measurements, though there may be some variance.

  • 1620mm x 600mm

5. Vinyl Banners

Vinyl banners are usually large banners that, due to the material, are both flexible and durable. Because of their durability, they last a long time and make a great cost-effective choice for advertising. Likewise, they are lightweight and easy to transport. As they are usually hung up by rope they can make a great statement piece depending on where they are placed, with vivid patterns and designs.

While they don’t often come with an expansive range of sizes, they are generally designed to suit a larger scale and can be found with these measurements:

  • 2000mm x 1000mm
  • 3000mm x 1000mm

Choosing Which Banner Size is Right for You

When choosing between banner types and sizes there are several factors that you should consider. The most important factor is to determine the purpose of your banner. Do you want to highlight your store entrance? Or perhaps advertise your business in different parts of the city to gain a wider audience? Each banner is designed for a different purpose, so make sure you choose one that will deliver the results you want.

Likewise, once you’ve determined your purpose you’ll need to consider the space that will showcase your banner. Will it accommodate the larger sizes or does your space need to be adjusted? Furthermore, your design will need to be suited to your chosen size. Are the words large enough to see at a distance? Or is your block of text likely to be cut off? You may have to adjust your message to suit your banner if you want good results.

Of course, budget is always worth serious consideration. Larger banners are usually far more expensive than smaller ones, as there is more material to print. Once you’ve decided what banner suits your needs and fits your budget, you will need to ensure your design is effective.
